Anyone creating fake reviews—which I imagine is a terrible practice long term as Google gets better at spotting these fake reviews—should be fine with your competitors reporting those fake reviews. I mean, you're both competing for the same market, and if deception is an acceptable practice to outrank your competitors, then I don't see how reporting that deception is not. Seems to me that if we've established deception is okay, then nothing is out of bounds.

But how to report is the question
Troy » Prafulla
You Really can't. Number one you have to know about the fake reviews number two how are you going to tell Google this guy is doing fake reviews well then they're going to question you how do you know about fake reviews? Don't worry about what they're doing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) your website the right way, optimize the hell out of your GMB which is Google my business, use citation websites fill out all the information and pictures and web links and all the extra crap, do the same in social media point everybody to your website. Put a messenger thing on there or something where they can tap instantly to call you you make it simple for them to call you the more simpler the better the more calls.

Anyone can figure out. The review submitted for a restaurant in Michigan from Hyderabad guys and you don't get 25 reviews of 5 star on daily basis for last couple of weeks. People who think this is acceptable are the culprit for such practice. One of these guys who calls cheating as SEO strategy is making this business ugly.

Here are a bunch of videos on the topic from established SEO users: https://www.YouTube.com/results?search_query=reporting+fake+reviews+to+Google
Many of these videos may be for removing fake reviews from a GMB you control, so you'll have to look for what applies to what you're trying to do.
That said, I saw a video that showed how to manually report a single review, but that would take forever if you have a lot of reviews to report. I don't know if there's a bulk way to report them.

Rienzi
Fake reviews are definitely working. Unless a manual action has been brought upon by GMB support – I've seen people posting stuff about suspension due to fake reviews etc.
So definitely there are also best practices even with shady tricks.
I never focus on reviews because that's not a ranking signal at all – but can improve User Experience (UX).

Reviews help ranking for sure, pictures/videos, profile helps even more
Rienzi » Fraser
So more reviews means higher map-pack ranking? I don't think so.
Fraser » Rienzi
Lol! We have over 650 five star reviews and 5.500 profile pictures and are top nationwide

Additional content in the reviews like photos, videos, can help the business show of its personality, which can increases the amount of views of the GMB, which can help with rankings

If God did SEO he would send you to hell for that.

Guess I'm first in line. I have a whole group dedicated to bringing down black hat GMBs
Steve » Mew
Yeah, it's tough to compete with them and easier to report them. I get it. Hope you appreciated the ironic statement of God sending someone to hell for being black hat.
Mew » Steve
Incredibly hard. Unless a company comes to you during their inception phase, and you can help sculpt their brand to have keywords in it. Hardly ever happens though.
I absolutely can appreciate the irony of it LOL!
Andrew » Mew
Do you actually? So a group of professional narcs?
Mew » Andrew
Yes sir!!!

I can't really get behind that tbh. I just find it pretty poor form when people go around reporting profiles. Like use the time to outrank your own, don't cause harm to other people's business. Just seems pointless to me. Karma is a b1tch they say…
Mew » Andrew
Hey man! Definitely respect your position.
On the other hand these rank and rents hurt our clients legitimized businesses, sometimes who have been working 20+ years to maintain a good reputation on the internet, and ranking their GMB becomes impossible.
Karma is a b1tch, but it also depends on who you believes deserves the Karma, and which perspective you choose to take
Nothing is ever all good, or all bad, and most things are relative to which side of the fence you stand on, from politics to SEO 🙂
Andrew » Mew
Ahh ok. Yeah rank and rents are a different beast. I don't care about those. I was talking about legitimate businesses inserting a location keyword into it's name. I just hope you guys are not reporting real businesses.

Oh no, we don't go over board in that sense. My apologies for not clarifying as we'd never set out to hurt a legitimate business, regardless of a keyword insertion.
Mostly rank and rents, or hardcore spam GMBs where we tie 10 in the same city back to an agency.
Steve
I'm glad the irony is appreciated here 🙂

Rest assured that your competitor, as well as everyone else who doesn't repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Chirst, will get what is coming to them, which is the judgment of God, even if Google or any other authority doesn't catch him. We all need to operate our businesses in any industry with this eventuality in mind. It will benefit us more than just morally and professionally.
Ecc 12:13-14 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Oh dear… another overboard Bible basher… got a surprise coming on judgement day…

Calm down with your religious quotes not everyone believes in religion.
With all the worlds deaths today many giving up religion.(( if it was true there be no deaths and disabilities in this world, and money and food would be free ))
Sherry
I am calm, offering a solution to the OP's concern, which is apparently a response to which you disagree (I hope I'm free to disagree and offer a different solution than you without being ridiculed). As far as your response mentioning "disabilities and death", including those caused by the bioweapon covid and the bioweapon vaccine, and including immoral business practices, they're because of man's sin. People "give up religion" because it is either false religion or because they want their sin (e.g. immoral business practices). As far as "not everyone being religious", you're ignorant that everyone is, even the Evolutionist raised in our socialist school system is a religious Statist or a religious Humanist (answered by determining who dictates your morality). As far as it being a "surprise", it won't be, since the Bible is clear, you've been advised about what God says, and it's built into you to know it's true, even though you hate the truth of it and complain about it.
Rom 1:18-22 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools

Folks, to my surprise, most of you who asked to get better at Search Engine Optimization (SEO) or how to prove they are fake are dumb SEO and GMB expert. First, You don't compete fake things, you compete fairness. Second – None of you bothered to ask what business this is. Just acted smart in your useless advice of being competent! It's a restaurant business, I am not into it but I see this being wrong. I know these are fake reviews they are obtaining because, no restaurant gets 30-50, 5 star reviews on daily basis for last 3-4 weeks! All reviewers in their profile shows only 1 or 2 reviews (mostly 1). The reviewers which has 2 reviews, their earlier review is from completely different country. All names are like what we see in this group – Chi Chi or similar! Third – seems like Google is failing to recognize these fake reviews. Fake 5 star reviews help them in Google search as well as customers making decision as all customers are not GMB specialist, they believe Google takes care of it and it's not taking care of it. We as a professional need to bring such wrong practices to the surface than accepting this as a norm. I am not angry but disappointed with your thoughts of how in this world, people are going on with their own business and not doing anything about wrong happening around. No wonder world is suffering and then we ask why this happened? No one seem to own a responsibility for what they see being wrong! Whoever responded negatively to this post, need to think about their consciousness stage and definitely not worth promoting anyone else's business as in their mind these wrong practices are okay till you are caught!
